I LOVE teaching math! About 5 or 6 years ago I took my Additional Qualifications and earned my Math Specialist certification. During that process, I created this blog as part of my Specialist course. I realized that I haven't finished what I started, so I am going to go back to get it done, especially since so much has happened with the pandemic impacting students. Over the next few months, I will be updating and adding new tools, research, games, and information to my blog.

Patterns abound everywhere! We can see the patterns in the world around us, which is great to help students make connections to the lessons they are learning in class. This can also be connected to transformational geometry as well when learning about tessellations. Here is a great video TedEd-Ancient Complex Islamic Patterns from TedEd about Complex Islamic Patterns. This may be a great enrichment activity or worked into art. Check out the list of additional resources under the video you may find useful.
